For some people it is hard to adapt with their favorite celebrities' changes. Especially if they do not feel the same connection they used to feel before. This may be the case of several Beyonce fans once she began changing her style in her new songs…

 I remember having sleepovers and karaoke with Destiny's Child songs. There was even a point where I knew pretty much all the lyrics to all their songs, with my favorite being “Jumpin', Jumpin'”. Destiny's child was so popular that every single school party I went to the DJ would not stop blasting their hits! As the years passed by their songs matured along with the singers and so did I. Eventually the group split and a few of its members began singing solo.

Even when Destiny's Child was a group Beyonce would always stand out.  Her voice was undeniable one of the best and she had the power to be a star even as an individual. I, along with several of others, soon moved on from being a Destiny's Child fan to a Beyonce fan. Just as with Destiny's Child, Beyonce quickly and almost effortlessly conquered the billboard charts. Crazy in Love became a classic at my high school parties. Being a big Beyonce fan I always made an immediate connection between Beyonce's new songs and her life. For example, the early stages of her relationship with Jay-Z (Bonnie & Clyde) and her marriage to Jay-Z (Single Ladies). Beyonce's talent can be shown across the diversity of categories under which several of her hits can be put under from really sexy and sensual songs to very serious and independent songs.

Every Beyonce fan can agree that Beyonce's new songs are completely different to what they used to be back in her early singing career. It seems as if she is getting more in touch with her “Sasha Fierce” side. I will have to admit that I was completely in shock seeing Beyonce performing her new songs; especially the ones with Lady Gaga (Video Phone and Telephone). This is only because I was not used to seeing such a “sexy” Beyonce. However this does not mean that she has lost any quality in her voice. She is just growing as an artist and diversifying her style. All loyal Beyonce fans know that she is still the same old Beyonce capable of singing very serious and touching songs (such as one of Beyonce's new songs Halo).

I believe every artist, be it actor, singer, painter or whoever goes through some sort of a transformation throughout their career. As years go by their styles modify to adapt to the current trend in order to connect more with the current generation (just like the current Lady Gaga generation). However no matter how much an artist changes deep inside they are still the same, they are just trying to connect with their audience in different ways. I believe this is the case with Beyonce in her new songs.
